ELECTRIC PLAYGROUND

SATURDAY OCTOBER 4TH, 2025

Now in its fifth year, Hazelwood Local partnered with the August Wilson African American Cultural Center for Community Days, an initiative that brings Black creativity, culture, and innovation into Pittsburgh’s neighborhoods. This year’s edition, The Electric Playground, transformed Hazelwood Green into an interactive celebration of regional innovation in science, technology, and the arts. Attendees of all ages engaged with hands-on exhibits, from drone flying and robotics demos to virtual reality and video games, while connecting through shared experiences. Highlights included a dynamic performance of Brouhaha by local troupe Squonk, a behind-the-scenes stage tour, and a roving set by the Eagleburger Band. With over 40 local food and retail vendors, The Electric Playground was a vibrant showcase of Pittsburgh’s imagination, talent, and community spirit.
